Looking Forward
Throughout my portfolio I have explored meaningful ideas that have positively impacted me as a person and my classroom teaching practice. In the future, I believe the knowledge I have gained from this program would help me enrich my classroom teaching practice, enable me to continue to be a reflective practitioner and prepare me for any unknown challenges that may arise in my personal and professional life. Both as graduate student and a teacher I am ready to begin my new journey driven by the knowledge and experience I have gained from this M.Ed. program. As a teacher I believe that every child is born with a gifted talent and it is my duty to assist my students to discover their strength and passion for leading a meaningful life in the future. Today for an effective classroom learning experience, the use of technology has been proven to be essential as it brings real-world experience into the classroom, provide scaffolding that allows learners to participate in complex cognitive tasks, increase opportunities to receive individualized feedback, build communities of interaction between teachers, students, and parents. As a classroom teacher I believe I should create authentic classroom tasks that would allow my students to learn with technology. The use of technology in classroom encourage inquiry, build knowledge, help in communication, and assist students’ self-expression. Thus, in my teaching practice I should integrate technology effectively for enhancing positive classroom teaching and learning environment. In addition to classroom teaching to bring about change in the lives of my students and the school community I should strive to become a transformational leader. As a positive change agent, I can inspire and empower my students to become the best of them and motivate them towards the vision of success inside and outside the school community. I hope to continue to see myself as a leader who can explore innovative teaching and learning ideas in today’s ever changing educational setting. To bring a positive shift in my school community I wish to find opportunities to communicate and collaborate with my colleagues to resolve any crisis that may arrive at my school’s educational setting. Additionally, as a reflective practitioner I need to constantly asses my abilities and skills in teaching. I will constantly reflect on my learning from this M.Ed. program, evaluate my teaching through student feedback, and involve myself in further professional development efforts. I believe these opportunities would allow me to engage, communicate and spend time in education community to improve and enhance my professional practice.
